Pen's up! Let's be creative and promote child-friendlier television content.
The National Council for Children's Television (NCCT) held this yearβs third run of Dialogue with Content Creators (DCC) in Cagayan de Oro City on August 25, 2022. More than 40 participants from local broadcast TV networks, NGOs, and students joined the event.Β .
Through a fun and informative approach, the NCCT's Media Monitoring Section (MMS) introduced to the participants the basics of R.A. No. 8370, otherwise known as the "Children's Television Act of 1997" and the Child-Friendly Content Standards (CFCS). Section 9 of the law requires each television station to allot at least 15% of its daily total airtime to child-friendly shows. The Media Monitoring Scorecard was also presented to the participants and their inputs were gathered.Β .
DCC is a lecture-forum that aims to capacitate content creators with information and tools to produce and uphold child-friendly television content. Want to know more about the mandates and initiatives of NCCT in promoting child-friendlier TV content?Β .
